Let me introduce myself.

I am Dan Browning, a longtime journalist and lifelong photographer. In short, I’m a storyteller.

I began studying photography seriously in the early 1970s under the late Dr. Donald Huntsman in Fullerton, Calif. In recent years I have trained my attention on movement (dance, martial arts, athletics) and portraits.

My photos have been featured in newspapers and magazines from Singapore to Minnesota, and in some specialty publications. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America.

I named my business Danzante Photography LLC to reflect my love of the martial arts and dancing. I have trained for many years in a jujitsu style called Danzan Ryu, and also in Aikido. I began studying competitive ballroom dancing in 2015. In Spanish, danzante means dancing. In Japanese, danzan (also pronounced dan yama) means cedar mountains, a term used for the Hawaiian Islands, where my jujitsu style was formed by the late Master Seishiro “Henry” Okazaki. Te means techniques. So Danzante encapsulated my passions.

Enough about me. I want to hear your story. Click here to start a conversation.
